Artwork Description:
Given rare instructions to get dirty, kids from Schrop Elementary School drenched their hands in paint before slapping them on the side of their colt. Two coats of polyurethane sealed the prints, making them timeless marks of the fourth and fifth grade students who helped decorate Hand-Able. The colt’s design was inspired by the theme of “helping hands that heal” – visualizing how we all need the help of someone to feed us when we are little, to guide us when we are young, to support us when we work and to heal us when we are sick. Lambert Buick-Pontiac-GMC, Inc. sponsored the kids’ colt.

The colt was decorated by fifth and sixth graders from Schrop Elementary, part of Springfield School District in Ellet.
