The employees of Kengraphics believe that kids should be able to just be kids! They should have fun, laugh, play and horse around. It is that belief that inspired their design.

With laughter being an integral part of life, the clown horse serves as the basis of their design. Their "Cabbage Patch Kids" and "preemie" represent a diverse cultural background. They further solidify the point that abuse, illness and life threatening diseases can affect all children. Their kids have personal touches like bandages and casts emphasize their physical and emotional needs. In reality, it's all about the kids! The combined elements reinforce the purpose and need the CARE Center and NICU provide.

Their hope is that the funds raised will help Akron Children's Hospital to "provide the ride" for a safe, healthy environment for kids to be kids... just horsin' around.

The kids on the rocking horse are accompanied with adoption papers allowing the buyer of this horse to personalize the name and birthday of each.

The horse is transformed into a clown by means of scaled props, faux painting techniques and sewn fabrics, each of a different color.

Artist: Bechtold, Jim and Christi

Jim Bechtold heads design at Kengraphics-- a Medina-based company that designs, builds and installs commerical and retail environments. Jim spends most of his time thinking "outside the box" as the design indicates. Christi Bechtold is president of CSB Designs LLC, which specializes in custom residential kitchens and baths.
