Artwork Description:
This rocking horse is covered in what resembles an old, worn baby quilt, with texture and dimension, with rockers painted to look like wood.

Inspiration for Artwork:
Quilts provide comfort for families in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) while shielding babies' eyes from bright lights.

Media Used:
The quilt is made by using fiberglass cloth and texturing medium. Craft paints in very pale colors and different glazes were used to create this effect.

Artist: Cheslock, Lynn

Lynn Cheslock is Akron Children's Hospital's NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Clnical Coordinator. She has been painting and crafting ever since she can remember. She has worked in the NICU almost 24 years. Combining these two for this project seemed natural, especially since the NICU will benefit from the event.
