Carole Spohn braved seven years of bad luck to shatter a textured, colored mirror, creating more than 8,500 pieces of broken mirrored glass that she used to mosaic her colt’s figure. She hand-cut the mirror pieces into tiny shards to follow every curve and bend of the colt’s muscular form. She has been working with stained and leaded glass for 32 years, using her experience as an employee of Leaded Glass Design. The memory of her Arabian horse’s birth inspired her colt’s full dress parade costume. She also drew inspiration from the beautiful miracles that take place at Children’s each day. The colt’s sponsor, Healthcare Innovative Solutions, Inc., is an action-oriented company providing information technology consulting services to healthcare organizations.
