Artwork Description:
The whir of railroad cars roaring down the track is a familiar sound to the students from Orrville Junior High School. Students respect this form of transportation, which has been vital in the development of Orrville and surrounding cities. The decorators of the colt, Rail Rider, sketched crisscrossing railroad tracks and scenes from around the community to honor the history of their hometown. Orrville Junior High School co-sponsored the colt with the J.M. Smucker Co. and Raymond James Financial Services, both located in Orrville.

This colt was painted by select art students from Orrville Junior High School. Students invited to participate developed the ideas depicting various places and events about the Orrville community - both past and present. A railroad theme was selected by art teacher, Pat Chambers.
